Pakistan foreign minister discusses regional situation on call with Iran’s Araghchi

Pakistan, May 4, 2026 (Al Arabiya English) – Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi discussed the regional situation and the ongoing diplomatic efforts taking place, the Pakistan foreign ministry said on Monday.
The phone conversation took place last night, the ministry said.
“Discussion focused on regional situation and Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic efforts for peace and stability in the region,” the ministry said in a post on X. It added that Araghchi expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s role and mediation efforts between the US and Iran.
Dar “reaffirmed Pakistan’s continued commitment to promoting constructive engagement and underscored that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only viable path toward peaceful resolution of issues and achieving lasting peace and stability in the region and beyond.”
