DHAKA, Feb 21, 2026 (TNB) – International Mother Language Day is being celebrated in a grand manner at the headquarters of UNESCO in Paris, organized by the Embassy of Bangladesh in France in collaboration with UNESCO.
On the occasion, UNESCO Director-General has announced the adoption of new initiatives aimed at preserving mother languages worldwide.
The UNESCO headquarters in Paris transformed into a vibrant gathering of global languages.

Diplomats, academics, and cultural figures from various countries participated in the celebration organized by the Bangladesh Embassy in France.

Emphasizing global linguistic diversity and the importance of mother languages, this year’s observance of International Mother Language Day once again underscored that language embodies culture, identity, and the foundation of sustainable development.
